The canvas is hand-embellished by Vanessa Horabuena herself using the highest of quality, richly pigmented acrylic paints. A specialized texture medium is added to enhance depth, creating dimensional highlights that catch light and bring areas of the painting to life. Vanessa’s original signature is applied directly to the canvas, replacing the printed one for an authentic finish.

Each piece is printed in-house using 12 archival pigment inks, then carefully hand-stretched onto custom, high-end 1 1/2" gallery depth poplar wood bars… crafted and assembled right here in our Tempe, Arizona studio. To protect and preserve the work, each embellished canvas is sealed with a professional-grade UV-protectant varnish, applied by a trained technician. This final touch ensures lasting brilliance and protection from fading, dust, and humidity. 

The finished piece is a one of a kind with a resemblance to an original painting. The product will be shipped out with a certificate of authenticity. 

Prophetic Meaning

"Blind Faith" is a profound reflection on trust, love, and overcoming adversity, inspired by the life of Lea, a gray quarter horse born completely blind. Lea's owner, my friend Lou from Les Haven Ranch, was presented with a daunting challenge at her birth. Advised that euthanasia might be the kindest option due to her blindness, Lou instead chose to see Lea’s potential and worth, believing her life to be valuable and full of possibilities.

Lea's story is one of overcoming and adapting. Born into darkness, she never knew the world through sight, yet her life has been anything but dim. Through the nurturing care at Les Haven Ranch, Lea has blossomed, revealing that true vision comes not from the eyes but from the heart. This piece captures the essence of her spirit – serene, graceful, and imbued with a trust that defies her physical constraints. This special bond between Lea and Lou is a living example of what it means to live by blind faith – a life guided not by sight but by trust and love. Just as she relies on Lou to navigate the unknown, we too are called to trust in God's guidance, even when our path is unclear. It's about recognizing that despite our imperfections, we are wonderfully made in God's image (Psalm 139:14; Genesis 1:27), and He loves us immeasurably (Psalm 103:11-14).

This piece is a poignant reflection on the power of faith that transcends physical limitations and the deep bonds of trust that can form in the absence of sight. At its core, "Blind Faith" speaks to the spiritual journey we all embark upon. Like Lea, we are often called to navigate the uncertainties of life, trusting in a path we cannot see with our eyes. The story of Lea and the mission of Les Haven Ranch, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating blind horses in St. Ignatius, Montana, is intertwined in this piece. The ranch stands as a beacon of hope and resilience, demonstrating that with love, care, and faith, the spirit can thrive in any condition.
